Adam and Eve were expected to remain innocent, but once Eve took a bite of the apple on the forbidden tree, we were seen as sinners and by default our children they had to take him with them. This self-inflicted pain was not manipulated by him but rather recognized and accepted as part of life once we chose to disregard his expectations. Many times we see that pain negatively affects our lives and the atheist assumes that God should alleviate if not eliminate pain because He is omnipotent, good and knowing. However, intruding into our lives in this way would violate our birthright of free will. We will no longer have the ability to choose our path or learn from our mistakes because God has predestined ours
