As stated above, “Gender dysphoria often leads to distress and impairment” (Chapter 8, page 279). In my opinion, this little boy who calls himself “the Princess” does not appear to have any signs of distress or impairment. However; further tests are needed to show whether the boy shows signs of distress. For example: How are the child's grades? Do the child's surroundings, such as friends or people around him, accept this type of behavior? How is the family and home environment regarding this behavior? As the kid gets older, he may or may not grow out of this type of behavior. However, as your child grows, they may show signs of distress if their surroundings are not as accepting of them as they were when they were younger. After watching the video, it seems like his family is accepting this type of behavior. It also seems that the boy is satisfied with his interests in girl-related objects and clothes. In my opinion, I think it's common for children to sometimes act out of the norm. For example; one of my friends has a little boy who sometimes likes to wear his mother's shoes for fun. Like the child in the video, my friend's son is happy and healthy and shows no signs of distress. Yes, it's abnormal behavior but in my opinion I don't think this type of behavior doesn't seem to cause discomfort. However; this kind of
