Andrew Jackson, the seventh president, can be counted among the greatest leaders of the United States. He had many different people skills which in turn helped him become one of our nation's presidents. Some of these skills include being a lawyer, a judge, a politician, a war hero, and most importantly, a great leader. Andrew Jackson can be listed among the great men who shaped this country into what it is today. Using his great leadership skills, Andrew Jackson gave this country everything he had and helped in every way he could. Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1857 to a poverty-driven Irish immigrant family. He was born in the Wax-Haws region on the border of North and South Carolina. His father died before the war, his mother and siblings all died during the war from disease or other causes, leaving him an orphan at the age of 14 years old. When he was a child he received only sporadic education, and at the time there was simply not enough education. But he did well and eventually went on to study law. After graduating from college, he served as a district judge in the state of Tennessee. He was also part of the committee that formed the Tennessee state constitution (“Andrew Jackson,” 2014). His war career truly began in his teens, when he served as a courier during the War of 1812. His hatred of the English also began at a young age. It was said that a British officer broke into Andrew's house and asked him to shine his shoes, but Andrew refused. The drunken soldier hit him in the face leaving him with scars that would last forever. Due to his fiery temper, he often engaged in many duels with his enemies, winning them all. As an adult, because of all that shit… paper… ever done. He gave in to the people of the country, took power away from the government and let the people decide. Instead of making heavy laws that dictate them, he let them govern themselves. He was a president who truly brought out the freedom on which this great country was founded. He gave everything, all those skills of being a lawyer, a judge, a politician, a war hero and a leader, he put his heart into it. Sure he might have made a couple of bad decisions here and there, but everyone does it. Andrew Jackson can and should be included in the list of great American presidents because he had the courage to give everything he had to the people and held nothing back, and this also weighed on him because he died because of it. So in a way you could say that he truly gave his life for this great country that is the United States of America.
