Topic > Essay on Cell Phones - 728

Before cell phones became popular, if you were driving and came across someone's car in the ditch, you would stop and check to see if they were okay, then wait for someone else to pass by ask for help and call 911 or you should leave the person in the car to go get help yourself. Now you can call 911 on your cell phone while still with the injured person and you don't have to leave their side until the emergency response team arrives. If you're driving down the road in the middle of the night and get a flat tire with no one around, you can simply pull out your cell phone and call a friend/relative or towing company to fix the tire. In the past, you would have to wait for someone else to pass by or try to walk to the nearest gas station for help. Before smartphones came along, if you were seriously injured and unconscious, no one except your relatives would know anything about your medical history. Now there is an app on most cell phones that contains all your information, for example: full name, address, age, blood type, medical conditions, etc. Overall I am very happy to have my cell phone with me at all times just in case of emergency. You never know when you'll need to call someone for help. It's crazy to think how much something, even just cell phones, has significantly changed everything in the world.
