Java is a widely used computer programming language created by Sun Microsystems, it was originally called OAK and was designed for small portable devices, but Oak proved unsuccessful and Sun decided to change the name in 1995 inventing the new and improved name Java. In doing so, they also took it upon themselves to modify the language to take advantage of the World Wide Web. Although Java is an object-oriented language similar to C++, it is a simpler version that eliminates language features that can cause common errors when programming. Java files are compiled into a format known as byte code (these files have a .class extension), which can later be executed by an interpreter. Compiled code can run on most computers thanks to the interpreter and runtime environments; these are known as Java Virtual Machines. A program that shares similarities with this high-level programming language is C++, it is also a popular and well-known language. Created at Bell Labs in 1983, it is much older than Java, but C++ has efficient performance and is used in application software, system software, entertainment software (especially video games), and client applications. This program was developed by Bjarne Stroustrup. The name C++ was originally C, but was renamed as a pun to involve the increment operator. This program has influenced numerous other programming languages; these include Java, C# and newer versions of C.C++ has a strong philosophy that relates to its development and also the evolution of the program, it has been governed by a set of rules that its expansion should follow. The very first rule is that the program should be driven by real problems and its features... half of paper......ks on multiple platforms and provides the opportunity to develop the entire program on a desktop computer. Also, the last most important thing is that unlike C++, when you write applications in Java, they can run anywhere in different environments. Even though they are similar, there is something more that differentiates them. Works mentioned "Java". What is it? Webopedia. Np, nd Web. May 13, 2014. “Java (programming language).” Wikipedia.
