Abraham Lincoln, arguably the best president of the United States, was said to have bouts of depression during his presidency. Whether it was the death of his youngest son Tad or the declared collapse of United, Abraham Lincoln had much to contemplate. Did these bouts of depression hinder his ability to become president or allow him to separate himself from others and think about the problems facing America without distractions? Not everyone has had to deal with the same problems as Abraham Lincoln, but many have had the experience of causing depression or low mood throughout their lives. Although some people consider depression to be a mental disorder, depression, or low mood, is actually beneficial in that human ancestors were depressed to stay healthy, to cope with unfavorable situations, and depressed individuals are highly analytical. In order for human ancestors to survive, it was advantageous for them to be depressed when danger was lurking around them, so as not to be exposed to it.
