The number one way to stay fit and healthy as people age is through exercise. Before people start exercising, they should make sure to consult their doctor to see if they are in good or bad shape and what they should do about it and what medicine might help. To start exercising, it's simple to try to find an activity that they enjoy and that motivates them to continue. It doesn't have to be a grueling activity; people can do something as simple as take a walk or ride a bike. First, they need to start slow, then once they get fitter, they can start to speed up and try workouts that are harder to accomplish. Exercise helps you maintain strength and agility even as you age and also improves mental health. You can join an exercise class to improve or maintain your fitness. You can play with your children or grandchildren, make walks part of your daily activity, and you can even make household chores more active by dancing to music while cleaning (“Staying,” n.d.). Weighing too much or too little at any age can lead to health problems. Make sure you don't stop once you start and set aside time during the day for physical activity. Sometimes exercising with a friend will help you get into a routine and stick to it. Exercise is very important for a healthy lifestyle. It can help prevent heart disease, hypertension, diabetes, osteoporosis and mental disorders such as depression. So people must learn to control their weight by exercising and eating well (“Getting Fit,” n.d.). Eating well The second way to stay fit and healthy as you age is to eat well. People never take the time out of the day to cook a nice, healthy meal at home because it's simply faster to order something or go to a drive-thru to eat. People need to stay... in the middle of the paper... mentally, you need to be positive, eat well, exercise, get adequate rest, manage stress, give and receive love and compassion, laugh and be happy, maintain inner calm, trust yourself and others, and open up (“What,” n.d.). You have the choice to do something with your life. If you don't like the way you look, change it. It all begins and ends with you and how much you are willing to work for what you want. If you can't do it for yourself, do it for the people you love. It will be difficult no doubt, but, if you need help getting where you want to go, it's okay to seek help. This is what personal trainers and families are for. They are there to help you achieve your goals and make your dreams come true. But everything still depends on you. So the question is still: how much are you willing to work to have a healthy life??
