Topic > Corinna Is Going Great by Robert Herrick - 776

Live for today! Why must we seize the moment? This is a million dollar life question. I think the question should be asked “Why not seize the day”. There is no right or wrong way to answer this question. This question reminds me of the Harry “Breaker” Harbord Morant quote “Live each day as if it were your last; for one day you will be sure you are right. So this is my answer. Better said with the simple term Carpe diem "seizing the moment" means enjoying the pleasures of the moment without worrying about the future. Why not enjoy what you have right now rather than dwelling on what you could have, because today's struggle can be tomorrow's blessing. In the early 17th century poets wrote a lot about seizing the moment when we have the chance. I chose the poem “CORINNA'S GOING A-MAYING” by Robert Herrick to analyze and explain religious factors and the expression of love through words in the current era of poetry. Seizing the moment is extremely more difficult than you think. We humans are built with the lateral septum, which is the part of the brain that makes us worry. Worrying can make anyone's day go horribly wrong. I disagree with some when they think don't let petty things bother you; bills, lack of money, love etc. But I also see how people can say these things. These are the people who have all the perfect things in life and have no worries. It's like saying “easier said than done,” in the sense that it's much harder than it seems. In Harbord Morant's quote he states that live each day like your last because you might be right. Take from this quote which means never take a break from enjoying roses. While we all have problems in life, we face them on a daily basis. You can't... middle of paper... write is a Catholic writer. Talk about May Day as if it were a Sunday or a special day when men and women get together for a day of flirting for fun. Puritans dislike the event as such because they believe that Sunday is a day meant for God, worship, and external religious matters. This is political because some people were forced to go to church again by the will of the history of the Catholic Church. It is also part of the reason for the fall of the churches. No one likes to be told what to do and what they can't. Nobody likes being forced to do something against their will. So people consider the church a rebellion. Seize the day, because you'll probably never have another chance to truly do what makes you happy. Put aside distant hopes. Even as we speak, time escapes us. So seize the day and the moment and don't put your faith in the future. Carpe Diem!
