Imagine never being able to turn your back without the fear of death lingering in your mind. This is how most of the Jewish prisoners in the famous Auschwitz concentration camp felt. Located on the outskirts of Oswiecim, Poland, the extermination camp has become a symbol of death throughout the world! From the gas chambers to the barracks and crematoriums, Auschwitz left every prisoner petrified. When you first enter Auschwitz, you immediately feel surrounded. You're pinned down by 13 feet of electrified barbed wire. Dozens of shacks built surround you. And, not to mention all the SS officers and kapos shouting orders at you as you walk to roll call. You feel trapped and there is no way out. Upon your arrival you will notice the large amount of watchtowers. There were a total of 10 towers, each guarded by 2 SS officers. Each tower stood tall and mighty above the camp, and no action would go unnoticed. Auschwitz had maximum security 24/7, so no one could escape.
