Kosovo is a relatively small country, but thanks to its geographical position and favorable agroclimatic conditions it is a very important country for agricultural production. However, in the agricultural sector, fruit and apple production, with continuous investments, can make Kosovo one of the most important countries in the Balkan Peninsula for apple production. The flat areas of the valleys with good soils and also with access to high quality water throughout the country allow farmers to grow very high quality fruits. From the research I have carried out with farmers in Kosovo I can conclude that investments in the apple production sector should continue. Increasing the number of hectares is one of the main objectives for farmers. At the moment the size of the farms is not large (according to my research about 80% of the farms producing apples are 0-5 hectares).
