My grandmother and her struggles drove my attraction to the health sciences. Once I found my career, I was totally absorbed in my studies. I really enjoyed health sciences. It's not always the numbers, but the learning, the experiences that count. I loved kinesiology; this field of health sciences has connected me to people. My caring attitude achieved the desired value. It's about taking care of patients, visiting them, helping them. During my senior year of undergrad, I found a job as a physical therapy technician at a local hospital in El Paso. The job I really enjoyed. Being bilingual has become helpful to the therapists I have worked with since the majority of the population speaks Spanish. I could easily gain the trust of patients. My supervisor relies on me a lot to do everything that is asked of me. The other therapist and I were the first to interact with the patients once they came out of the surgeries. People tend to be a little nervous and this makes it essential to give them care and trust. I could easily get along with them, help them move and make them understand the importance of movement and exercise for their body after training
