Amazon has corporate governance, including a Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. This code addresses twelve different aspects of their business, including compliance with laws, rules and regulations, conflicts of interest, insider trading policy, discrimination and harassment, health and safety, price fixing, corruption, record keeping and financial integrity, applications, periodic certification applications, board of directors and waivers. Included in the descriptions are basic guiding principles on how employees should conduct business in relation to these aspects. Although these guidelines are quite concise, particular emphasis is placed on conflicts of interest. A heightened sense of concern is placed on whether employees use their personal benefits for family members or affiliates and whether position within the company or relationships with external affiliates interfere with the employee's objective business judgment.
