Unlimited Knowledge Portland has been a beautiful city since I lived here. I came to America in 2007 in the middle of winter. The weather was cold as usual for a winter time. The rain and snow were regular and reminded me of the weather in my home country. My aunt, who I lived with when I first came here, told me how beautiful this city will be in the spring. "Why?" I asked her. “Many trees, bushes and flowers grow here. In Ukraine you lived in a city where there were many parks, but now you live in a city built in a huge park. This area has no drought due to lots of rain. It's the main reason why our city is evergreen. Rain is the liquid that makes nature very beautiful, but if the rain cycle changes, the status of an evergreen place will also change." I agreed with her. I continue to live in this beautiful city and my life has continued too. My kids went to school, my husband went to work, but I had to deal with the biggest problem that immigrants call problem No. 1. I didn't know English. I decided to study the language in college. After that I wanted to work in an elementary school as a teacher because in Ukraine I was a kindergarten teacher. This job is familiar to me and I didn't think that studying would be difficult for me. I'm not a silly person, I have a degree, I like studying and communicating with people. I thought my knowledge and work experience were broad to be a wise student and successful worker in this country. I thought I knew a lot of information and was a modern person. After going to college, I realized that only constant learning is the basis of broad knowledge. When I was 16, I attended a college in my country. In Ukraine the student can take the h...... middle of paper ......rker in America. I'm studying computers and my life has become more modern than before. I didn't invent something new, but I improved my opportunities. Constant learning helps a person keep the brain in working position. Every day the brain needs to calculate, store new information and so on. Doctors say that brain cells especially die without studying. That's not good news, is it? Do you know who would like to be an elderly person in body and mind? A person cannot stop the aging process of his body, but he can stop the aging process of his brain. For example, when I am in college among young people, I forget about my age, full of energy and knowledge. I feel young like hundreds of other students. Despite age, a person who studies is like an evergreen city: full of knowledge, life and wisdom forever.
