My subject is a nine year old girl. He is in fourth grade which is average for his age. His height is four feet three inches and his weight is eighty-five pounds. According to www.disabled-world.com the average height of a nine-year-old girl is "47 inches" or three feet nine inches, and the average weight is "63.8 pounds." This would mean that he is above average in both weight and height. Having a weight above average does not necessarily mean that a person is obese, it just means that they have a weight above average for the population and, in the situation of my subjects, the situation is slightly lower. In terms of BMI (body mass index), my subject scored 23, which is within the normal range. This means that my subject is considered healthy in terms of weight and therefore has a lower chance of contracting diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and high cholesterol levels. The subject performs many physical activities and the objective physical description is healthy. I have seen the subject use gross motor skills in activities such as riding a bicycle, playing basketball, soccer, and tag. These exercises are gross motor because they use large muscles such as those in the legs and arms. I also saw the subject display fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are the opposite of gross motor skills, instead of using large muscles they use small muscles like those found in the fingers. Examples of fine motor skills include calligraphy, drawing a picture, playing with plasticine and playing with cards. Both types of activities are good for the child's physical development and health. General motor activities involve more muscles and help you stay fit. Fine motor activities target small muscles like the fingers so you can better ... middle of paper ... what games to play, when he is with his younger siblings. He demonstrated industry by adapting and excelling in calligraphy. He has received a confidence boost as he receives praise for his work. She enjoys being in groups and interacts well with other children. The cause is his family and his other siblings. Growing up with many siblings, he learned to interact and live with others, this is essential in everyday society. It is also because she has managed to succeed in the earlier stages that she is able to do so well within her peer group. Because if you don't learn to trust you can't be part of a group. If you don't have the initiative and industry you won't be noticed and probably won't be involved in the company due to drive and other things. It is because of a combination of all these things that my subject is what it is today.
