Through this Tai Chi class, I have learned several lessons and practices that I can use in my daily routine. Sifu taught me that Tai Chi involves exercise, increasing flexibility, and managing stress, but it won't be helpful if you don't understand it and know how to incorporate it into your daily life. Tai Chi is a form of exercise that helps relax the body, as well as strengthen muscles and increase balance. It provides many health benefits that involve a combination of breathing and circulation of Qi, or energy, to relax and align the body and mind. I learned to maintain more control over myself and understand my limits after learning Qi and Qigong. In college, there are many stressors that students face. Many people don't find time during the day to breathe and exercise. Before when I exercised I never thought about incorporating breathing into it, I didn't realize it would be as helpful as it is now.
