Topic > Creative Writing: The End of Humanity - 1118

Sunday, December 8th was the day it all began. Some may call it a catastrophe, others call it The End of Humanity, but I, Eli, call it an experience; although it is evidently more extreme. Due to one scientist's mistake, humanity was at serious risk of extinction. What is this life-changing event? It's something so hysterically implausible that I thought I was simply living in a dream. It's the Zombie Apocalypse of 2014, and here's my story: Today was the third day the zombies have been here, and yet I still can't acknowledge their existence, it seems so unreal. ¼ of the world is already dead or, technically, infected and transformed into horrible, disgusting looking creatures. They haven't arrived in Atlanta yet, where I live, but they are very close. My parents have no intention of trying to save themselves or taking precautions. As pessimists as they are, they expect the worst from this supernatural situation. Even television doesn't help at all, other than reminding us that we will soon die. There's a one minute video on Write now, a guy was shooting a video with his phone and he's streaming it. The creatures looked ugly, vomit green, saliva dripping from their mouths, dark black circles under their eyes, creating hissing noises at the man taking the video (images). Suddenly, the camera went black, but not before he saw a green hand reaching out towards him. I guess he didn't survive then. I felt bad for that man. I guess my death will come soon too. I feel calm, ready for death, indifferent. Zombies are expected to arrive in Atlanta in a day or two. Officially there is no hope in civilization. I grabbed the remote, ready to change the channel. The door suddenly collapsed. Then, the chaos... middle of paper... suddenly saw me, grabbed the gun and shot the zombie. I ran to him, grateful and happy. “Thank you very much, really, thank you.” I smiled at him. "Please." He smiled at me. Suddenly I collapsed, my ear was burning. I touched it. It was a bite. No, it can't be. I didn't hear anything. Kolton looked at me with fear in his eyes. My pulse was racing. My hand was turning greenish-yellow, my nails were growing, saliva was starting to drip grossly, my hair was partly falling out slowly, my vision was blurry, my body was getting stronger and my body was vibrating ( Images). I was sitting at Kolton's feet. I looked up, staring at him in horror. I have to do the right thing, if I complete the transition I will turn him into a zombie. "SHOT ME, NOW!" I screamed." "What? No!!”“NOW!” I shouted louder. The last thing I heard was a shot.
