Since the beginning of the world, philosophy has become one of the oldest subjects known to man. Existentialism and the mythical worldview have existed for centuries and still inspire theories about them today. The mythical worldview and existentialism share the common bond of the absurd, regardless of whether they are two distinct theories in philosophy. In the following essay, the similarities and differences between these worldviews will be made evident, as well as how they equally relate to the absurd in their nature and content. First, only existentialism is the philosophy based on personal experience or responsibility and its consequences for one's life. individual actions and existence by free will and absence of moral judgment. In reality, it is a pessimistic and hopeless theory of human purpose on earth and existence as it describes the human condition, its struggles, challenges and great progress and will to find a higher purpose. Theorists and philosophers agree that it is characterized by free will, inevitable negative consequences, responsibility for decision making, individuality, and the world's indifference towards them. Furthermore, Jean-Paul Sartre, a 20th century philosopher who influenced existentialism, supports this theory that the individual is eternally free. xxxIn short, existentialism focuses not on the study of human nature and how it came to be, but rather on how its study undermines the individual in question. The individual can make his own decisions as he breaks the barrier of his so-called nature, but bears the consequences of his actions alone. Second, the mythical worldview includes individuals who believe that Jesus Christ of the New Testament was as real as God's other creations in other cultures...... middle of paper...... are heroic beings often with great abilities and strengths, almost god-like and often depicted as deriving from gods while those in existentialist theories are simple people; the common man and the vulnerable product of the earth. In conclusion, existential and mythical worldviews differ and connect on many levels, but they connect primarily through the presence of absurdities between them. The relationship between the absurd and these theories is their contrast and their vision of life. Meaning, characters, and purpose differ between the existentialist and mythical worldviews. The mythical worldview and existentialism share the common bond of the absurd, regardless of whether they are two distinct theories in philosophy. Although many suggestions can be made about these theories, there will never be one right answer because philosophy is infinite and God will always remain a mystery...
