Cars in America are almost a way of life now. The car a person owns shows the world what kind of person he is. Most of these cars are ten of the major automakers that dominate the automotive market. There are over 250 million cars on the road in America. Five of these ten car brands are American brands. More people should buy American cars for their incredible safety and reliability, distinctive styling, equal or better fuel economy, and support for American jobs. American cars are built stronger and more reliable than foreign cars. For over a hundred years Chevy, Ford and Chrysler have built cars that have lasted through the decades. Over the past few years, American cars have consistently fallen short or pushed the bar on what a quality vehicle is. American manufacturers have explored many different ways to use technology and materials to aid the everyday driver. American cars use stronger and better materials. AM (American manufacturers) know that it is important for drivers to have a comfortable ride during their daily commute. “The quality is high. Consumer Reports says Ford vehicles now compete with the best Japanese products.” (Newman, p. 1). AC (American Cars) now rivals some of the best cars in the full-size luxury division. The Cadillac CTS was named Motor Trends' 2014 Car of the Year for its twin-turbo engines, eight-speed transmission and comfortable ride. American cars use the latest technology. All car manufacturers around the world have improved the technology throughout their range of cars. Chevy built an engine that shuts off when you are sitting at a stop light, the engine will stop running when you press the brake pedal, when the brake is released, the engine will restart. Now the Corvette...middle of the paper...the cars are about a $1,000 difference and the mileage is about the same. The real factor is how much consumers want to pay for fuel consumption. “The Detroit Three know they have to work harder to sell cars, which means they often cost less than top-of-the-line models from Toyota, Honda and other competitors.” (Newman, page 1). American automakers know how to build cars with better materials, distinct styling, and great fuel economy. Cars can take a driver from point A to point B and make it the best ride ever. Now, what it takes for a driver to get there, is a completely different story. American automakers have many choices for each individual driver to suit his personality and driving style. Anyone can choose American cars with good reliability, latest technology, classic style and great fuel economy. So whatever road they take, let it be in an American car.
