Well, if you've made your dream come true, it may not be that far away thanks to new technology discovered by Gecko's. The new technology is actually not that new, it was only recently discovered by the human race, so we consider it new, but in reality it has been around for millions of years. The secret to the gecko's ability to climb walls is really complex, it starts at the molecular level, with what they call a spatula, it's a nanohair about 200 nanometers wide and tall (Robert Full 2000). The putty knife is so small that you can't see it with the naked eye, but it creates a relatively strong force for its size, and that's what makes it climb up walls and ceilings. The force that is created is actually a weak force, but because this force is so small a Gecko's foot has hundreds of millions of these spatulas, and because of millions of these hairs it creates a force equal to 4x107 μn which is about 40N per foot (Robert Full 2000).
