Studies have shown year after year that homeschooled students consistently perform as well (or in many cases better) than traditionally studied students on academic exams standardized. But very rarely does anyone ask why this happens, or what led to the student doing so well, because they are usually too concerned with questions about the student's social life or whether they would be able to handle the transition to college. Therefore, my thesis is: Homeschooled students often achieve higher academic success and are more active in their communities than traditional schooled students, thanks to a personalized approach to learning that emphasizes individuality. My research paper will dispel some popular myths about homeschooling and provide the real reasons why homeschoolers are so successful.II. A student's learning environment has a significant impact on their academic performance. (Garas-York, 2010, p. 432) This section will discuss how the environment a student is placed in, whether at home or at school, plays an important role in determining their academic success. It will include studies conducted with both homeschooled and non-homeschooled students and will show how a traditional school environment is often not conducive to a student's learning.
