Topic > Chemistry: The Behavior of Gases - 955

Early scientists were the easiest to describe the gaseous state. The gaseous state first began to be described in late 1662. The gaseous state led to many mathematical equations and formulas that can be applied to all, if not most, gases. Many topics will be covered in this essay. My main focus will include some properties of gases and explain how gas behaviors differ when variables are included. Gases surround humans every single day. Many times we overlook gases because it's not something we pay much attention to. Earth's atmosphere is what keeps us alive and well every day. The atmosphere is one of the most precious gas samples for us humans because it contains so many gases. Gases are what help us live every day. To understand the complete concept of gases it is necessary to understand the properties of gases and the relationships between them. The behavior of gases varies. As the temperature of the gases increases, the speed also increases. The gas particles move in a rapid and continuous motion. The particles collide with each other and with the container. As each particle collides with each other or with the container, it constantly continues to move in different directions. The gas particles will only travel a short distance because sooner or later they will collide again. The general properties of the gas also vary. There are three main properties. The first property is that gases are easy to compress. The gases are separated without any pre-established arrangement which makes them easily compressible. A gas will always enter a container. It doesn't matter what the shape or size. This is only possible because the gas does not contain a defined shape or volume. When gases are compressed to a certain point or temperature, they come... middle of paper... around to meet your needs and find what variable is missing from the equation. There are many other ways to calculate variables, but the above equation is considered the simplest and fastest way to solve for an unknown variable. Some concepts of the gaseous state take time to fully understand. In this essay the following have been provided: the properties of gases and how the behavior changes as the variable varies. Gas laws and kinetic molecular theory were also included in the essay. Each postulate was given in order to be able to fully grasp and understand it. Some postulates have been given in more detail while other postulates are more self-explanatory. From the information provided you can determine the definition and effect of each, but some people may want to look into this further. If you wish, I have provided some of the sources used while typing this essay.
