Its controversy stems from the fact that people's views on this topic are rooted in their value systems, religious beliefs, and political socialization. Its importance in today's political discussions is likely to continue, given the relationship between unwanted pregnancies and overpopulation. The constitutionality of abortion is often debated, as no doctrine specifically addresses it. As a result, no explicit national law has ever been enacted. This article will explore the many aspects of abortion. For organizational purposes, it will first provide background information and outline a brief history of abortion. It will then explore the court cases and social influences that impact abortion and their role in this controversial topic. History of Abortion Abortion has been practiced in all areas of the world for as long as recorded history. Its aim has always been to terminate unwanted pregnancies or those that put the mother's life at risk. The first time it was considered a crime was in Assyria, where women found guilty of abortions were left to die. Jewish law also considered it a crime. However, in contrast, Greek law assumed that the fetus was part of the woman and was her choice.
