If someone's faith is real and honest. If someone tells the truth. Or even if someone lies, they do it to save someone else or themselves. Miller also shows this in his comedy. Just because you might tell a lie doesn't mean you don't have faith. It all depends on why you lie and what the lie is. When Elizabeth lied that Proctor and Abigail had not committed adultery, she did so to protect Proctor's name. He did it for the better of someone else, but does that mean he has no faith? There is a relationship between faith and truth, but they do not always go hand in hand. Just because someone has faith doesn't mean they never lie, and just because someone lies doesn't mean they don't have faith. Yes, truth and faith are very similar, but they are as different as they are similar. It's almost impossible
