We can develop stereotypes in many different ways. When we are young, we are taught to sort people and objects into different categories. Racial stereotypes are memories that we attribute to a certain racial group. When we stereotype people based on race, we divide ourselves because of racial differences. Because our racial stereotypes are so defined, we tend to ignore information that is not followed by the stereotype we have developed about the racial group. Racial stereotypes are harmful and this ignores a person's full humanity and uniqueness. When our assumptions about different races are misrepresented and stereotyped, it is limiting and harmful to others. In certain situations, people who are constantly labeled negatively may begin to inherit feelings of inferiority. Racial stereotypes can also lead to feelings of hatred and aggression which can lead to a false sense of entitlement and superiority. For some individuals in power, this could lead to their involvement in discriminatory and racist practices. While men are expected to be bold and aggressive. Domestic behaviors: Society expects women to take care of
