During my science classes I was exposed to many amazing functions of the human body; what had piqued my interest was the complex study of the human body and how it recovers from injury. I always knew in life that the medical field was for me. I am confident that with your help I can become a very successful healthcare specialist; I believe I have the right mindset, personality traits and skills: I am supportive, reliable, understanding, caring and, above all, I am a limitless source of positivity and passion. There is no doubt that science has always been a strong interest of mine, which is why I chose applied science for my A levels, this was due to the vast topics covered in each unit; the biology unit allowed me to better understand how the body heals from injuries. Within this it included a physics unit that "works with waves", this would intrigue me as it has to do with radiology and studies into how it can cure cancer and tumors. Physics would enhance my knowledge by allowing me to improve logical judgments and improve my problem-solving ability. In addition to my Applied Science course, I also studied the Extended Certificate in Business and took a Diploma course in Economics. This helped me improve myself as a person and professionally as I gained a lot of knowledge on how to communicate clearly with people and negotiation skills. In April we were given the task of creating a school party which would allow a maximum of 180 students, whilst in doing so we were divided into groups each with a leader. I was the leader of my group and helped plan the event - this provided me with the opportunity to improve my analytical skills. By working overtime I improved my leadership skills and excelled in project management and planning as the party was successful and delivered to the best standards within a deadline. Continuing with my communication skills, I am trilingual and can speak English, Urdu and Hindi, this would enable me to communicate with different people from different backgrounds. To show my passion and interest in being a healthcare specialist, I undertook work experience with a GP, requiring me to observe the GP whilst consulting patients, carrying out paperwork and implementing my advanced IT skills while I work there. Unfortunately, my grandmother lost her battle with cancer a couple of years ago; during the time I cared for her, she helped me recognize what people with health issues go through and I knew something had to be done. This significantly motivated me to become a healthcare specialist and I knew it was important for this to become part of my professional life. In conclusion, if given the opportunity, I can become a successful student who would transcend the important role of a healthcare specialist. .
