In this assignment we will discuss gender inequality focusing mainly on women. Gender boundaries are drawn early, starting at birth, and exclusions for women continue throughout adulthood. According to the UN, a global and reliable organisation, today in 32 countries the procedures that women go through to obtain a passport differ from those of men. In 18 countries, women need their husband's approval to accept a job. The degree and causes of gender inequality vary around the world. Say no to plagiarism. Even though religion plays a very important role in every human being, there are always some weaknesses in some religions which act as a cage for women. Lack of adequate education is one of the main causes of gender inequality. This is because in today's world no one can go far without an adequate level of education. Many families do not pay due attention to girls. In this case, they end up not receiving a proper education. Here is a pie chart from the United Nations showing inequality in education. Poverty is another factor that causes inequality. For example, if a woman applied for a job there would be doubts about accepting her into the company. And if the woman is also poor there will be less chance of being accepted. Due to credit rationing, the poor often cannot afford the minimum initial investment in education or other investments, or cannot obtain insurance for their investments, even if profitable, because they lack collateral. Consequences Selim Jahan, director of the UNDP Office's Human Development Report, gender inequality also impacts the lives of many women beyond those who survive. Fear of violence can prevent women from continuing their education, working or exercising their rights and political voice. It stops women from thinking, from doing something and forces them to stay with the consequences even for the sake of religion and norms. Perspectives It is not possible to separate poverty and inequality because poverty leads to inequality. Furthermore we can see how there is a difference in the amount of female inequality in different countries with different levels of literacy and growth. For example, according to “Express Tribune”, a reliable Pakistani news channel, multidimensional poverty in Pakistan dropped to 38.8% in 2014-2015. And as for America, the US census stated that only 15.1% of the general population lives in poverty and now, if we compare them both, we can clearly see how much the differences matter. According to Felix Naschold, who has conducted extensive research, small changes in income distribution can have a large effect on poverty. A simple arithmetic example can help visualize this. Imagine a country in which the share of national income going to the poorest 20% of the population increases from 6% to 6.25%. A change in the income distribution of a quarter of 1% would barely affect the Gini coefficient, but for the poor this represents a 4% increase in their total income. Such a small redistribution would have the same effect on poverty as a doublingof annual national income growth from 4%, which is the projected growth rate for many African countries, to 8%, needed to achieve the Millennium Development Goal on income poverty. Internationally, gender inequality is prevalent in many areas of life, including education, employment, medical care, laws and violence. According to the EU, a credible and globally known political and economic union, in the countries with the highest unemployment rates the rate of women was even higher than that of men: it reached 27.2% against 18 .9% for men in Greece, 20.7% versus 17.4% in Spain, etc. There are obvious examples of inequality, such as a large discrepancy in pay between men and women, and more subtle examples of inequality, such as different questions asked in interviews of women compared to men. As much as my government has to defend discrimination against women, it supports this idea more. For example, according to Pakistan's largest and most reliable English-language newspaper, there are only six female judges in the higher judiciary, none in the Supreme Court. However, there are no female prime ministers, except the one in the past (Benazir Bhutto) who actually proved to be very useful for the country. In my opinion, the main reason for inequality in Pakistan is lack of education. I believe there are not many women working and fighting for their rights due to lack of knowledge and for the sake of religion or norms. But where there is knowledge we can see women taking a stand. According to "The News", an "Aurat (Women's) March" was held in Pakistan in 2019. Many protests were held for women's freedom. This is another step towards gender equality. There are some differences between the inequality rates globally and those in my country. So globally, there is less inequality overall, but my country, being a poor country, has higher inequality rates with the issue of religion outlined well. As much as I am in favor of this idea, I am a woman, which means I am also discriminated against and I am also taught the fact that I am nothing but man. But I realize that equality is a human right that every individual deserves it and so do I. So I am a person who likes to fight for rights and this research increased my knowledge and showed me the statistics and made me question my existence and my rights to woman and I realized how big a problem it is that requires urgent attention. For example, according to "The News" I now know that there are only 6 female judges in the higher judiciary, which is an alarming factor for me. Solution/Line of Action Perhaps an organization, campaign, or laws can reinforce this idea. Eliminate all forms of practices against women's rights, such as arranged marriages and female infanticide. Now, in my opinion, an organization, for example the United Nations, is a great idea that can raise funds, raise awareness and have a board with divisions in particular sectors, so this is the perfect solution to satisfy inequality globally. So campaigns are better at solving this problem on a national level because the smaller the area the campaign focuses on, the faster it will be solved. Both of these solutions and actions should be taken not only for women but also for men. And also keeping in mind that these courses of action will take a long time to abolish inequality. Women should be given all rights, but in a way that does not affect a person's religion. A "HEFORSHE" campaign was started in 2014 by 2014-2015..
