This means having a relationship outside of marriage. Most people call it cheating or better yet adultery. Cheating cases are rampant nowadays. There are so many cases of spouses killing each other simply because they found out the other was cheating. In addition to killing each other, some spouses simply decide to divorce. In reality, extramarital affairs are responsible for the breakup of many families. The main question we should ask ourselves here is: what causes infidelity? I will discuss two main reasons for infidelity: Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Get an Original Essay Believe it or not, some partners find it difficult to forgive their partners who have cheated on them. They therefore decide to take revenge even by cheating, which brings more harm than good. I think when it comes to this point the couple should consult a marriage counselor. If one partner feels like they get less attention, are undervalued, or have all the financial burden on their shoulders, then the relationship is one-sided. This might cause him to look for some other companion outside, which is really dangerous. This is actually the big dog here. In my opinion money has destroyed most marriages. Problems can arise due to careless spending habits and one partner having more money than the other. I tend to believe that most men feel threatened if their wives earn more than them. This could lead to unnecessary chaos. Another challenge is that if the woman earns more, it may feel superior and lead to a power struggle. The law of nature states that the head of the house is the man. This will never change, no matter how educated a woman is. I think this is why some men don't allow their wives to work after they marry them. Such factors should be taken into careful consideration if all partners want to have a stable marriage. Every family must do proper financial planning. Couples may argue about financial matters, children, or their responsibilities. I have seen most couples arguing about children. The reasons could be who should pick up the children from school, blaming each other for a child's rebellion, arguing over who should pay the school fees, buying clothes for the children, and even blaming each other for the lack of children. Both partners might work, so when they arrive home in the evening after work, they start arguing about who should take care of the household chores. The main reason why a couple may constantly argue is that one may feel like his or her opinions are being ignored and therefore he or she always comes up with the same problem. This is really dangerous for any relationship, be it dating or marriage, as one of the partners will get tired and give up until divorce. Good communication is the foundation of a quality marriage. Yelling and speaking harshly or exchanging negative comments is not right. Shouting or yelling is not good because the other partner will be offended. A gentle response takes away anger. It's unfortunate that some couples are used to yelling at each other over very minor issues. Unhealthy communication methods should be abandoned in any relationship as this is one of the major causes of divorce. Life is full of disappointments. It is not advisable to enter into a marriage expecting your spouse to measure upof the image of who he is in your mind. Some partners expect too much from their partners and cannot deliver. This leads them to view their partners as failures because they have not met their standards. Wrong expectations can therefore lead to divorce. You should love the person you are seeing and not the idea of who they should be or who they will be after marriage. One of the most serious causes of divorce is abuse. The abuse can be physical or emotional. Physical abuse is rampant in our present world. If you talk to many young people, they usually have a story to tell about their parents who lived by fighting and hitting each other. Physical abuse is not just the first step, it actually starts with emotional abuse where a partner, if it is the man, criticizes the woman on her dressing style, the way she walks, how she talks, her physical appearance and, worse still, controls his every movement. As is known, women thrive on what they feel. This could really affect a woman. As for women, they may try to blame men for their unhappiness, constantly check their phones for texts and calls, or even accuse their husbands of cheating. All of these are forms of emotional abuse. If emotional abuse leads to physical abuse where a husband and wife hit each other, then that is a no-go zone. This is a big cause for divorce. It is advisable to escape from an abusive relationship or marriage so as to spare yourself and your children all the suffering that is truly traumatizing. It is usually said that marriage should not be entered into inadvertently and without the fear of God. Some young people get married without any consultation thinking that it would be easy. They may actually think they are running away from their current problems since they found the person they love, only to realize that they are adding to their problems. You need to be psychologically prepared and well advised on how to be with your spouse and children. Since many young people, especially in their twenties, get married inadvertently, they find it difficult to face challenges and then divorce. Can you imagine couples living like brother and sister? By this I mean they have neither physical intimacy nor emotional intimacy. If you are not connected to your partner, you really feel like you are living with a complete stranger. Intimacy is not just about sexual needs, emotional intimacy is also important where you connect, talk to each other well, surprise each other and help each other. You also shouldn't ignore your partner's sexual needs. You have to be there to satisfy their sexual needs, otherwise they will start to have thoughts of infidelity which could lead to divorce. It's truly amazing how women's bodies change after giving birth to children. Some men marry thin women who become plump after giving birth due to the baby fat. Because God created people with many diversities, some men marry plump women who shrink after giving birth. If love and understanding are not what governs a relationship, then the husband may begin to find his wife less sexually attractive. Once he takes his attention away from her, that's where the problem arises. Some couples then divorce because of what is really bad. As long as a girl is trying to maintain her hygiene after giving birth, I don't think physical appearance should matter. It is certainly true that a woman may hide her true identity to attract a man's attention. The same thing can also happen to a woman where a man hides his true self in order to marry her. This is not correct at all. It is usually said that you should not pretend but you should be yourself and someone will love you for who you are. ANDreally bad that some people realize later in the marriage that they married someone completely different. In the worst case scenario, a man can marry a very innocent and humble woman, educating her until she gets to where she wanted to be, but unfortunately the woman can change and become wild to the point that her husband can't tell her anything. Many people just persevere in marriage instead of enjoying their marriage, which is very sad. In such cases where partners find that they are strangers to each other, in most cases they opt for divorce. Alcohol is a commonly abused drug. A combination of alcohol and other drugs is more dangerous. The problem usually arises if the breadwinner of the house drinks irresponsibly and forgets his responsibilities. Some men use their entire salary to drink and neglect their families, leaving them with many financial constraints. In addition to this, the level of drug abuse can reach a point where the partner no longer arrives at work on time or even goes to work because he or she spends most of his or her time feeding the addictions. In other cases, drug abuse can cause violence in homes. This is another major cause of divorce. Aside from companionship, people marry to procreate. It is every woman's desire to have children. A couple may be unable to have children due to reproductive problems of the husband or wife. The problem with our society is that people are always quick to blame women which is wrong. A man can also be sterile. In such situations people are told to seek medical attention. If partners are not patient with each other hoping that things can change, then this is another major cause of divorce. This especially occurs in long-distance relationships or marriages. After marriage it is not advisable to take your spouse for granted. If your partner lives in another country or works far away, you really need to communicate a lot to cover the fact that you are married long distance. If this doesn't happen, partners may lose interest in each other, leading to loneliness. Loneliness could trigger the mind into infidelity which could eventually lead to divorce. It is so unfortunate that most couples, after having children, focus completely on the children and forget why they got married in the first place. They focus so much on their children that they forget they have a spouse. As the children grow to the point where they have to work, the left alone couple discovers that they have nothing in common and have grown to be separated. This can easily lead to divorce, since there is no connection. Causes of Divorce: Essay Conclusion Every couple has disagreements, the only difference is how couples resolve conflicts. Decisions should not be unilateral. In some cases, it is necessary to involve a third party such as a parent, elder or pastor to help the couple resolve the conflict. In this case both partners should be willing to listen, otherwise, it can lead to divorce. Please note: this is just an example. Get a custom paper from our expert writers now.
