The need to carry out a large number of private and public constructions has raised very important questions. Do construction companies, in the post-war period, follow international standards in the execution of their projects? Are they compliant with the Project Management Body of Knowledge Model (PMBOK Model 2000)? The ultimate aspiration is to ensure the safe execution of projects, meet environmental standards and ultimately provide safe constructions for end users. To answer these questions, five construction companies were interviewed and asked questions related to twenty-one sections that discussed the main steps needed to implement internationally competent construction projects. These sections are as follows: Project Approval, Project Initiation, Project Progress Tracking, Problem and Change Management, Scope Planning, Work Planning, Task Planning, Task Estimation, Schedule Tracking, Estimating Cost Management, Budgeting, Project Cost Tracking, Quality Management, Inspection, Human Resource Planning, Stakeholder Identification, Communication Planning, Project Status Reporting, Risk Identification, Risk Assessment, Planning Risk Response, Procurement Planning, Bid and Proposal Evaluation, and Project Closure. The sections discussed summarize common knowledge and practices that, if followed, will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of any construction project. Properly executed projects indicate that projects were delivered on time and within budget, creating friendly and professional team members, meeting stakeholder expectations, and delivering buildings, highways, roads, etc. reliable. The research results revealed that Lebanese construction companies need to work harder to improve the level of their performance especially in studying risk and its effects on the quality of their work and its consequences. We believe that risk considerations are of paramount importance especially in the Middle East, where risk factors are vital and must be carefully examined. Furthermore, the construction industry itself carries a high degree of hazards that need to be managed professionally. In summary, this research was conducted primarily because construction project management has shifted from its traditional goals to more sophisticated efforts that require careful implementation to deliver competent construction projects. As a result, Lebanese construction companies should follow the latest project management trends that lead to successful projects. Please note: this is just an example.
