In the evolving world of digital technology, the Internet has also grown significantly to the point that some information, websites or images have to be censored by the government. By imposing censorship on the Internet, governments withhold some data, information or images that may be conflicting and inappropriate for the public. Say no to plagiarism. Get an Original EssayCauseThe younger generation has become very fond of digital technology and has access to a large number of web pages. While browsing the Internet, they may come across inappropriate images or information that could be harmful to their young minds. Some teenagers and even young adults, out of curiosity or intentionally, look for images or videos that may be disturbing and not appropriate for their age. Secondly, if we are talking about a national and global issue, everyone has different opinions on topics such as religion, race or culture, and on the Internet there are no limits to what people post about these topics. Nowadays, the number of fraudulent websites on the Internet that steal the victim's data and private information has increased. One source states that “According to a Harris Poll, 60 million people in the United States have been victims of identity theft at least once in their lives.” Consequences Most parents are usually unaware of their children's online activity and this worries them. One source identifies "....In order to protect children from the negative influence of extreme, violent and pornographic information, 93% of parents support mandatory filtering of the Internet." However, governments should not be blamed for not implementing censorship in society, parents themselves should always be aware of what their children watch online. People post different opinions on the Internet about sensitive issues such as religion. There may be some information that can be very conflicting and can raise concerns and tensions between people and even between countries. This can cause hatred between people of different countries, religions, races, etc. Again, there is no need for the government to impose censorship. The blame should fall on the people who try to spread hate on the Internet. Many fraudulent and malicious websites, controlled by hackers, roam the Internet and steal victims' personal information. This leads to identity theft or financial loss for the victim. Possible Solutions By imposing censorship on the Internet, all inappropriate websites are filtered out and parents do not always have to worry about what their children see online. Furthermore, any information with extreme views and opinions, or fake news, can be censored, thus reducing conflicts within a society or between nations. However, even if fake news on the Internet is censored, there may be a possibility that it will be published through newspapers or magazines, so in this case there is no benefit of Internet censorship. Furthermore, online crimes are reduced because all harmful websites are blocked through the use of censorship. However, there are many people who could use special apps to block Internet censorship and gain access to anything they want. Other point of view on the issue "Censorship" On the other hand, people argue that the Internet is a platform where every person, regardless of their origin and ethnicity, has the right to.
