He is the quietest of the group and likes reading, writing and hanging out with his three friends: Chris, Vern and Teddy. Chris Chambers is Gordie's best friend, he is a nice and intelligent boy, but he is also brave and seen by his fellow citizens as a bad boy. Then there's Vern Tessio, he's the most naive of the group. People usually perceive him and his family as not that bright or just plain stupid. And last but not least is Teddy Duchamp, he is very eccentric. He wears a hearing aid and he also wears these huge glasses. Say no to plagiarism. So they began an adventure to go and see his body. In this adventure the boys discover new places such as a scrapyard with a ferocious dog from which they have to escape. Along the way they also discover a swamp full of leeches. During this adventure, the boys discover many different things about themselves and each other. Like the problems everyone has at home, Family. Gordie has an older brother who recently passed away, he was a very well liked and respected person. Gordie has all the pressure to follow in his footsteps and become just like him. He has problems with his family because they always compare them by saying things like "why can't you be more like your brother?" His family also accuses him of not being present with the family due to the death of his older brother. Then there's Chris Chambers, he comes from a family with its fair share of problems. He has an alcoholic and abusive father from whom he tries to distance himself to prevent something bad from happening. He also has an older brother, but he is not liked or respected by others because he did not follow the best path. Chris is often seen as a troublemaker, even though he isn't one at all, he only defends himself and his friends. Vern Tessio is the friendliest of the group, a little naive and very trusting. The townspeople consider his family stupid and he also has an older brother who is part of a group of teenagers who are not the nicest or, in other words, bullies. And finally we have Teddy. He is the most eccentric of the group, with a hearing aid and huge glasses. When he was younger, his father, who is a war veteran, was sent to a mental hospital due to mental illness and since then, Teddy has been sensitive to words like crazy or crazy. This movie has a lot of issues when it comes to family and relationships with each other. They might all love each other but they might not show it in a logical way. How to abuse your child. Chris Chambers has a father who is an alcoholic and an abuser. He physically abuses Chris and does not realize the effect it has on him and their relationship. According to PE Mullen, any type of abuse affects the victim's mental health and functioning. Studies show that people who abuse their children were most likely abused in some way growing up. So it's almost as if they abuse to gain control over or even somehow "fix" themselves from the original abuser. That said, the child may even grow up to abuse his or her loved ones as well. Which didn't happen in this situation. Another way that love was not expressed in a positive way was when Gordie's parents constantly told him that they wished he was more like his late older brother. Gordie wasn't a bad guy, but I think his family was like that, 46(3), 308-327.
