Living in a very different culture than the one I grew up in and have lived in my entire life was eye-opening. There were many things in the military that hindered me, as well as many things that have helped my journey in life thus far. In this essay I have illustrated how the military hindered me at that time in a specific environment, in which I was essentially forced to live, due to military enlistment.
