ArrhythmiaI am doing my arrhythmia report. It affects the cardiac muscle, the heart. Arrhythmia causes three types of problems. It causes the heart to pump too slowly (bradycardia), too fast (tachycardia), and causes the heart to skip beats (palipations). Bradycardia can be very serious. Some of the symptoms are loss of consciousness, heart failure, or death. Slow heart rate is caused by heart block. The heart's natural pacemaker cannot reach the ventricles, the main pumping chambers of the heart. Some treatments may be used. It is possible to insert an electronic pacemaker which will send an electronic impulse to the heart stimulating it to beat at a normal rhythm. Pacemakers are inserted only when the heart beats too slowly. Tachycardia can also be very serious. It can lead to disabling symptoms and even death. When you have tachycardia, your heart rate is more than 100 beats per minute. Tachycardia is caused by past heart injuries. Tachycardia usually occurs months or years after a heart attack. One treatment for tachycardia may be the insertion of a device called a defibrillator. A defibrillator will detect and treat abnormally fast heart rhythms. The defibrillator monitors the heart and automatically delivers electric shocks before the arrhythmia causes permanent damage. If the person does not have a defibrillator they will be given a strong electric shock. The cause of Tachycardia is due to something not working properly in the atria. Sometimes they are stimulated by anxiety. Too much caffeine, alcohol and certain medications can also be the cause. Attacks could last a few minutes or several days. They can be serious and sometimes not serious. Palpitations occur when the heart skips a beat. Palpitations have many different symptoms. Some of these symptoms are dizziness, fatigue or fainting due to lack of oxygen-rich blood to the brain, chest pain, shortness of breath, and death (which rarely occurs). Palpitations are caused by high blood pressure, master valve prolapse, hyperthyroidism, anemia, coronary heart disease, or stress, anxiety, panic attacks, stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine and alcohol, heavy excursus, high consumption of nutmeg. There are some treatments you can do. You could try holding your breath briefly, slowly drinking cold water, washing your face with cold water, coughing several times, holding your nose, and blowing (it will pop).
