This shows that Rosa is quite aware of the fact that she is good at sports but not good at academics. Valentine, DuBois & Cooper, 20014, stated that children's self-esteem varies depending on their experiences. These researchers stated; Children who have had successful experiences academically are more likely to enjoy school, try harder, and perform well academically, and vice versa. This shows that because Rosa is aware of her self-efficacy, it is now affecting her self-esteem. This now causes her to be distracted in these lessons and consistently perform well in sports. Ferirings & Taska, 1996, stated that children and adolescents whose parents are loving and have reasonable expectations of them generally exhibit a high level of self-esteem. Once again it can be seen that lack of parental involvement is one of the main reasons for Rosa's underperformance in different subjects
