They always told me this story before moving to Hong Kong from Vietnam. The old man was a former Vietnam soldier and they used many methods to escape to Hong Kong, and finally they did so through all kinds of difficulties. When they settled in Hong Kong, the old man wanted his son to have a better life, so he spent all his money to send him to the United States, leaving them alone.
