We can only imagine how different the United States would be now. If there were no Bill of Rights, it is possible that the freedoms we see in the amendments today would be limited or not even exist if the government felt threatened. The government would perhaps expand its power and “for the greater good of the American people” limit our rights. All we need to see how it would work is to look at countries that have a strong national government and see how they took the freedom of their people (India, Venezuela, Mexico, Pakistan). Countries like these show us why the push for the Bill of Rights was so important and how it impacts our daily lives. Antifederalism helped secure our freedoms by limiting government intervention in state problems and our daily activities.
