I have been against war for as long as I can remember. I don't think there is a need for war. Many innocent lives were lost during the war, the loss of innocent people could have been avoided by not entering the war. Furthermore, I also feel that although American soldiers are trained as well as they should be to protect us and our country, I feel that they are not treated with the respect they deserve, and I also feel that they are underpaid. I think a soldier should do the same, if not more, than a man on the field playing football and/or baseball. In all reality, I really like sports, but what they get paid to throw a ball around is overrated, especially when soldiers put their lives on the line for our country and what's right, and only make about $10 an hour. Talk about injustice. World War II was the toughest battle civilization had ever seen. Many innocent people were killed and money and resources were wasted on nonsense. The number of innocent people who lost their lives has never been calculated, but it is estimated that more than 60 million people decayed. Could it have been avoided? Absolutely, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The war was born due to the state of depression we were going through. The world was in trouble, but we still had natural resources to maintain our way of life. However, Germany, Italy, and Japan relied on foreign trade for food and raw materials. If these countries wanted to survive, they had to outcompete other countries with valuable natural resources. The Germans had a very powerful leader named Adolf Hitler who was a greedy man who wanted everyone to be equal and to be the only leader in the world. Hitler had many men doing his dirty work for him. The number……half of the card……in a war we didn't need to fight for dubious reasons that ultimately turned out to be false. Iraq was not, as we were repeatedly told, developing weapons of mass destruction. This was false information provided by the Bush administration to justify a war that was unnecessary. Furthermore, negotiation skills could have prevented the wars of recent decades from preventing loss of life. I may not always agree with the way the government treats our society, but because I am a part of that society, I believe that regardless of what I think about the government, it is important to stay up to date with the news media, because at the end of the day it affects society at large.
