Khaled Hosseini, an inspiring author, has experimented and written books based on the society and culture of Afghanistan. In A Thousand Splendid Suns, the main protagonist, Laila, finds herself in the middle of a country at war. At one point, her father tells her, “marriage can wait, education can't” (Hosseini 103). Her father urges her to take advantage of knowledge rather than rush into marriage. Marriage is a lifelong process and, according to the Quran, invites a woman to follow her husband. All in all, it is well known that love, respect and trust are what maintains the strong bond between man and wife. There have been too many times when they have been caged in and looked down upon. Women deserve the same equality as men. It won't happen immediately, but the change is happening, slowly. One way to get this right is to create an organization and promote the idea that women can get a job, get an education and not get married at an early age in Afghanistan. The organization could raise money for two buildings. One building will be designated as a school, so that women receive the education they deserve. The other building opens up to job opportunities. These jobs could range from sewing to cooking. Women are more than just a trophy to sit there and act like they have no voice. The challenge can be a struggle but not
