Only the most imaginative mind could comprehend the thought of humans being selected or ignored and even killed based on biological protocol. This scientific theory is responsible for the reproduction of superior genes through inheritance by controversial means. This idea is based on the evolution of the human species or basically the survival of the fittest. Charles Darwin, the greatest known scientist who ever lived, popularized this theory and is responsible for the brutality and death of over 100 million humans. Darwin's theory was known and used by Adolf Hitler and Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. These three minds are responsible for creating the deadliest falsified scientific theory in the history of the world. Eugenics is the science of improving a population by controlled breeding to increase the presence of desirable heritable characteristics (Oxford Dictionary). This notion can be traced back to old world cultures such as the Egyptians, but was popularized in the 19th century by Charles Darwin. Also known as Darwinian medicine, eugenics evolved from the theory that humans remained in a primitive mammalian state also considered “savage” by Darwin (Guliuzza 32). This was an observation he had made while studying the inhabitants of South American islands such as the Firelands. Eugenics gained a lot of notoriety in the early 20th century and was highly respected by scientists. One of these biologists named Ilya Ivanov, a graduate of Kharkov University, was very successful in artificial insemination of animals. He eventually received grants from the Russian government to finance a new project. Three times he attempted... middle of paper... human race. Hitler leaves behind a legacy of death and ideas that many people (my grandmother) believe to be true. With all those who died of starvation in Nazi Germany and the murders that Hitler is responsible for there are almost 20 million deaths. And for Margaret Sanger, dead 45 years, her legacy continues to be built; as some say, Planned Parenthood's abortion count is around 50 million. However, the prize goes to Darwin, because without him the reduction of the human species would not have been popularized as it was and still is. His notions and theories are broad and strong in educational systems and with new generations challenging all truths, Darwin's legacy has and will continue to prevail. He is responsible for all the deaths combined and is the most dangerous man who ever lived.
