Donating food that is still healthy enough to be safely consumed by humans seems like a very successful way to divert potential food waste from landfills. In fact, there are many businesses around Waco that already donate some of their unsellable goods to those in need. Walmart, Target and Sam's Club are some of the few companies that partner with the Feeding America organization to provide food that would normally end up in landfills to those in need. (Food and Fund Partners) Feeding America takes food that stores would normally throw away and stores it so that those who need it can come and pick up the food. Food banks then provide food to those in need. (Our story) This process is good and helps a better cause, but from then on there is still a huge amount of food left
