I was born and raised in the beautiful city of Fredericton, New Brunswick. I have a 20 year old older brother named Oliver who has been living away from home for 5 years pursuing his hockey career. Given these circumstances, we still remain very close and continue to communicate every day. Since my mother was French and my father was English, they wanted me to grow up bilingual. That said, they chose to enroll me in the local French school, École Sainte-Anne, which I attended from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Growing up I always had a house full of dogs. I currently have two Brittany Spaniels named Abbe and Molly, and also a Yorkshire Terrier named Sophie. My parents divorced when I was just 6 years old and I believe their separation had an immense impact on why the bond between me and my brother is so strong. My father remarried Louise, an elementary school teacher in New Maryland. Louise has two daughters: Erin, who is twenty-one, and Sarah, who is fifteen. At first I wasn't in favor of the idea because I felt like it was trying to replace my mother and I was afraid of losing my father to my new family members. I finally came to terms with their relationship. In fact, it has benefited me in the grand scheme of things by making me an extremely independent young woman. During my years in the school system, I was very in love with sports. More specifically, volleyball. I started playing when I was seven years old and continued to play competitively until the end of my twelfth year of high school. Being part of countless club, school and county teams, the sport has occupied a large part of my life. Another of my passions was leadership, which I dedicated myself to…halfway through…until year 12, where I was elected vice president. Something I was especially proud of was being selected as the president of Best Buddies last year. It was an incredible experience and I made many lasting friendships. Goals If you take the time to get to know me, you will learn that I am ambitious. My short term goal would be to do well in my first year of university. “Doing well” in my opinion consists of getting an A to A+ average, this will give me a good foundation for the next academic years. Also, I would like to gain more confidence when speaking in front of a large group. Finally, in the long term my goal is to obtain a Master's in Business which I hope will allow me to acquire a well-paid job. With this job I hope to be financially stable to start a family. Most of all, I would like to live a long, healthy and happy life.
