The Middle East Conflict is a conflict between Israel and neighboring Arab countries including Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq and the state of Palestine. Its history dates back to before the First World War, until the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, with wars continuing intermittently from the 1930s onwards. It is a complicated conflict as there are political, territorial and religious factors in the conflict. Some of the documentaries I saw were quite biased against Arabs and Palestinians, most notably the documentary “Occupation 101”. It expresses how the Palestinians ruled the land and the Jewish people immigrated and took control of their land. This is not a very precise statement. Furthermore, the film did not explain that all of this was happening around the time the Nazis had taken power in Germany. Hitler's rise to power forced many Jews to flee to Palestine, to escape concentration camps and death. They were looking for a place where they could start over and be safe. Once Britain realized that this was going to be a bigger problem than they expected, they turned to the United Nations for help. The UN divides Palestine in two giving the Jewish people their own land as well as the Arabs. The Arabs had every right to be upset because they suddenly had to divide their land. However, they believed that this was Israel's fault when in reality this was caused by the Nazi Party and the Holocaust. I thought Ross Kemp's two documentaries In Gaza and Israel were informative because we got to see what each side of the conflict thought. Both Israel and Palestine are going through difficulties and constant warfare helps no one. It puts pressure on the economy, the health of civilians and damage to cities. Both sides live… in the middle of paper… without hope” why should they accept them? Especially when the Arabs did not accept the entry of Jews into their country. Israel is still responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent Arab civilians, which I disagree with. However, if other countries have made serious threats that one day they will try to eliminate their country, you must take it seriously and you cannot just sit back and let other countries attack your country without retaliation. The conflict in the Middle East has many aspects to consider. and it's a pretty complicated topic. However, measures have been taken to reduce violence, such as treaties signed between Israel and Egypt, as well as with Jordan. While this is a step in the right direction, in my opinion the conflict in the Middle East is far from resolved. As long as Hamas rules Palestine, I cannot see any peace between the two sides.
