Intimate partner violence negatively affects all socioeconomic, demographic, religious and sexual orientation contexts. Domestic violence includes psychological, physical and sexual components. Child abuse also includes levels of physical, sexual and psychological abuse, however the perpetrator is usually a parent or someone the child knows. These forms of violence not only affect the perpetrator and the victim, but also the justice system (Davis, 2010). Often, the occurrence of intimate partner violence is not easy to detect until it is reported or until it becomes visible. This makes the intervention process challenging because you may not know the correct steps to take for the “level” to which the violence has reached. Therefore, to combat this phenomenon it is necessary to put in place a government-led intervention method that is successful in its efforts to stop the recurrence of domestic violence and child abuse. Due to modern technological advancements over the past century, technology now plays an important role in the daily lives of humans in the 21st century. With most of today's society revolving around the latest technologies, almost everyone, from children to the elderly, owns smartphones, tablets, or even both. Both devices allow access to anything you can imagine (e.g. games, movies, Internet, etc.) with the simple movement of a finger across the screen. This is why intervention programs should be brought into the age of technology. An easier way to access information worldwide and reach people of all ages would be through the creation of an app that could be downloaded onto any smartphone or tablet. This app will allow anyone who has experienced (or is currently experiencing) violence or knows someone who is...... middle of paper ......find solutions quickly and efficiently to any situation they find themselves in. With this application, the final decision to report violence will depend on the individual and what they believe is best. Due to fears of lack of privacy and retaliation, many victims of violence are usually reluctant to report the act (Felson, Messner, Hoskin & Deane, 2006). However, with an app the fear of privacy goes out the window. When you report violence through the app, your name isn't attached, no one can see you or hear your voice, and you're untraceable because you're not using Wi-Fi. In terms of retaliation, the victim can choose when and where to report their attacker, so if a woman, man or child uses the app to find the nearest shelter, they will be able to go to a shelter where they will be protected and safe . of their attacker and then report the violence to the police.
