The eradication of poverty is crucial; however, one cannot attempt to abolish global poverty by living in a state of unawareness. Individuals must question both local and global statistics, analyze the effects of poverty and reflect on the potential causes of this global phenomenon. Without basic knowledge, eliminating poverty is an unmanageable concept. However, although daunting, this complex issue is of great importance. With understanding, we can begin to effectively contribute to the eradication of local and global poverty. Individuals must strive to develop a broader understanding of global poverty to better prepare themselves to contribute to it
