God has done amazing and shocking things in my life that I will be forever grateful for. When I got saved in 2008 I didn't know much about Christ, other than that He died for me. At that point in my life the weight of it all never really sunk in. God has brought me out of many hurts and tribulations in my life. When I was 4 years old my parents divorced and I was left practically fatherless. Growing up I never thought this really affected me until I realized I wanted the gratification of a male figure. At the age of 5 I was sexually molested for two years. The effects of this were felt more than a decade later. When I was 10 years old I got involved in a local ministry that my family participated in. For several years I have helped spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to low-income communities with Sidewalk Sunday School in Zion, Illinois. This time in my life has been a learning experience; overall I was closer to God than ever. That changed at age 15, when the desires of the world overwhelmed my desire to stay in the church.
