The images in “My Last Duchess” are based on the feelings of the Duke and what he shares with the servant. The images in “Porphyria's Lover” are based on those of Porphyria. The tone of "My Last Duchess" is arrogant and ignorant because the Duke thinks highly of himself and foolishly shares all of his flaws. The tone in “Porphyria's Lover” is rational: the speaker makes sense of the murder of a woman he loves so much. Both poems turned out to be dramatic
