You may ask what distinguishes the Anglican Church or denomination from any other Christian denomination, and this question will be answered in various ways. Years have passed and the great concept of Christianity has evolved and separated into multiple religious groups or denominations. We could all argue that the denominations are the same and say that they all agree on one thing "GOD", which would be correct, however the fact and matter is that each of the Christian denominations stands on its own two feet in terms of beliefs, practices, mode of worship and political system. King Henry VIII of England, during the Reformation period, declared that the Church was divided. One side wanted to maintain the Catholic Church and the other wanted to distance itself from it. One of the events that led to the split of the church was that he had an argument with the Pope because Catherine of Aragon had not been granted a divorce. For the king, divorce was not something he thought he would be denied. The results of this decision by the pope led King Henry VII through parliament to separate the English church from the Roman Catholic church in 1534, became an established church by an act of parliament in the act of supremacy and declared himself supreme head of the church of England . This event would not only create separation, but would also begin what we would come to know to be the English Reformation. With Henry at the head of the Church, not many changes were made, the church remained practically the same and the hierarchy of bishops and archbishops remained. (Lippy, Williams p94). The Anglican Church was influenced by the great schism between the Eastern Orthodox and Western Catholic Churches. Since it all begins in England around 15... in the middle of the paper... it is accurate to speak of the "Anglican communion", all the national churches of the world that consider themselves "in communion with" the Church of England. Through its practices of belief, worship and politics, the Anglican Church separates itself from the rest of the denominations. The world we live in today is a place where people seek comfort, affection and peace. The Anglican Church offers a place where people from anywhere in the world can meet and feel one with Jesus. One man's argument and ability to say no to another man because he felt he had the right and deserved it that he wanted, they transformed into the Anglican church that today works miracles for those in need and pushes those on the path to spiritual heights. The Anglican Church is distinguished from others by its ways of worship, its political system and the practices it carries out.
