Topic > An Analysis of Wild Inequalities by Jonathan Kozol

As stated earlier, Kozol explains the physical conditions and lack of funding. These two examples can be useful to compare the book with my school. Kozol says the physical appearance and health of students and staff can change students' perceptions and how others view the school and students. Many enter Classics and see the ceiling collapsing and the obsolete classrooms that students use today. This can lead an individual to believe that this school is poor and not worth investing in. The physical appearance can create the illusion to any individual that only students from poor communities attend this school. Additionally, it can also make them believe they lack education compared to a well-invested school in a more affluent community. However, the Classical is the exact opposite of this. This school is a #1 ranked college preparatory school in Rhode Island. Although the school may lack physical appearance, it truly contradicts the stereotype that is said about the school having similar physical appearances to the classical ones and creates social and educational conditions.
