It was tragic just to see the expressions of sadness, worry, and upset. Everyone was hugging each other and at this point I knew how serious the situation was. Nick and I were finally realizing everything that was happening. Nick and I were talking to Bruno; we learned that Gil was in a coma, in intensive care, with bacterial meningitis. I looked at Bruno with a confused expression and just by looking at him I could understand that this was life or death. I remembered asking, “Is there anything we can do at this point?” everyone in the room responded "Just pray", at this point there was nothing anyone could do except the big man himself upstairs. So a group of us decided to go ahead and go down to the hospital for breakfast. It was very cold in the hospital but it always smelled of detergent and it was very unsanitary. We found a Starbucks and decided to stop there. It was Nick, Katie, Kurtis, Maddie, Jack and I who decided to go down and get something. Let me tell you it was the most depressing time I've ever spent having breakfast with friends. It was just us talking about memories with Gil and wondering what the future held, because at that point we still had hope that something would happen.
