Marisol's referral was related to the problems identified: (1) Domestic Violence, (2) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (3) Parent-Child Relationship Problem, and ( 4) Work problem. The following strengths were noted: Recognized that she is doing a disservice to herself and her children by remaining with an abusive partner, Wants a safe and healthy home life with her children where abuse is involved, and Takes a role active in caring for children. herself and her children. The treatment plan addressed the identified issues mentioned above.1. Problem identified: domestic violence (physical abuse on the person, emotional/psychological abuse by the adult). Treatment Goals: Develop the skills needed to maintain physical and emotional safety in current and future relationships. Return to the level of self-confidence and emotional and social functioning that were present before the abuse began. Verbalize emotional reactions to the abuse. Identify the impact of abuse on social functioning. Write a security plan that will be implemented to establish and maintain physical security. Interventions: Talk to the client and find out if they have been directly or indirectly threatened not to report the abuse. Explore feelings associated with the abuse, such as guilt, shame, helplessness, fear, anger, and/or guilt. Assist the client in identifying ways in which the abuse has prohibited building relationships with support systems. Educate client about the availability of domestic violence services, identify friends/family members willing and able to provide a safe and secure living situation.2. Problem Identified: PTSD, Chronic Treatment Goals: Verbalize an accurate understanding of PTSD and how it develops.
