All men are created equal, the Declaration of Independence reads. People should not be discriminated against based on their race, nationality, religion or their sexual orientation, but some people are so critical. Some of us judge people without knowing them. Gay and lesbian people are the same as heterosexual people. For example, they are people with emotions and have the same rights. They should not be discriminated against for being who they are. Same-sex marriage is now legal in the United States, however, gay and lesbian people face a lot of discrimination in their daily lives. For example, they face discrimination from churches, the Bible does not support same-sex marriages, and they refuse to allow same-sex marriages in churches. Some people may think that it is not a tradition for people of the same sex to get married, but weddings are for two people who love each other, so does gender matter? If two people are happy with each other, that's all that matters. In the relationship being happy is of primary importance, so gender is just a name. In different sax marriages, one sex might have more power over the other, but in same-sex marriages both partners have equal power.
